Holly Yzquierdo

Holly Yzquierdo is an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager and has served at Catholic Charities since 2014. She is passionate about helping nonprofits share the impact of their work in a digital world. Holly has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cameron University. Outside of work, Holly enjoys spending time with her family.

One of Laurie White’s classes required her to do a community project. After some research, White learned how many refugees struggling to find a job, often can't afford hygeine or cleaning products. “Imagine trying to get a job as a refugee and not having soap for bathing or washing clothes or even a toothbrush. How can you be successful?” said White.

"This has been one of the greatest privileges for me,” said Karynda Kearns.  “This has been a healing experience for us.”

“When a parent from Avondale heard of the wonderful turn out for the father event in Glendale with Home Depot, Natasha Neal Gaucin and her husband Daniel Gaucin, wanted to do the same for fathers in their site,” said Dulce Hernandez, program governance specialist for Westside Head Start (WSHS).

Lori had never been to a food bank, asked for help or been without a home for herself and her 2-year-old son and teenage daughter. After losing her home, Lori and her children ended up living on the streets.

Historically, churches have provided safe havens for the weary traveler. It's the same today, but now in partnership with Catholic Charities' refugee program, local parishes are accomplishing so much more.
